Interviewed by Dr Serena Haywood, Consultant at St Georges Hospital, London, colleagues talk freely about what it was to work through the peak of the pandemic. From the Chief Medical Officer to the cleaners, everyone has astory to tell. From April until June 2020 at the peak of the pandemic, eqaully heart-breaking and heart-warming, their lives will never be the same again.



Episode 1 - July 3rd. M and M. The Intensivists are preparing for the first mortality and morbidity meeting at the peak of the admissions with Covid-19 at St Georges. Anaesthetist Richard brings patients to intensive care, Aggie runs from one unit to another and military doctor, Jey is so busy, he hardly notices the clocks changing.



Episode 2 - July 10th. Juggling. In Bereavement Services, Jeni can't sleep, in the mortuary, Frazer is having to turn grieving relatives away and the aways cheerful Lead Medical Examiner, Nigel, has an argument with someone in Richmond Park.



Episode 3 - July 17th. Vitamin Sea. Junior doctor, Toby, feels so far from medical school even though it has only been 8 months since he qualified, Palliative Care Specialist Nurse Rosemary dreams of The Irish Sea and Dave just wants to help.



July 24th. The Backbone. Contract cleaner Maureen and her boss, Rosana have lost three colleagues but are still positive whilst Brijesh, Deputy Portering Manager has to get the BBC onto the helipad to film the Thursday clapping.



July 31st. Family. Mark is, in his own words a warrior. One moment he can’t catch his breath then 3 months later he wakes up in ITU. Bhelyne is his nurse who hasn’t hugged her children in 8 weeks. Surgeon Shabnam loses her father in law and isn’t allowed to say goodbye in person.



August 7th. The Sentinels. Ben thought security in a hospital would be easier that a police officer in Croydon but he wasn’t expecting the raw emotion. Richard, the Chief Medical Officer catches his breath on his rooftop terrace whilst paediatrician Serena is redeployed to the medical examiners office, whispers goodbye to the departed and wonders why her baking keeps failing.
